   The plan of PADANG ARO Hydroelectric Power Plant is located in 3 villages, namely Lubuk Gadang Village, East Lubuk Gadang Village and Lubuk Gadang Utara Village, Sangir District, South Solok Regency, West Sumatra Province. At these locations the Batang Sangir River and Batang Liki River flow which has the potential to be used as Hydroelectric Power Plants. 

Geography

  South Solok regency is located at an altitude of 350-430 meters above sea level. Its area reaches 359,013 hectares, comprising 150,532 hectares of protected forest area (41.93%) and 208,481 hectares of cultivated area (58.07%). The landscape varies between plains, undulating, and the plateau is a series of the Bukit Barisan mountains.

 

Topographically

  The eastern part of this district is an area that is relatively undulating plateau ranging from Lubuk Malako in District Sangir Jujuan to the north up to the District of Batang Sangir. 69.19% of the territory of South Solok has a slope of 40 degrees are classified as very steep and prone to the danger of landslides and only around 15.02 a relatively flat and sloping. The western part of the valley at the foot of the mountain region which occupies an area bordering the South Coastal District and Mount Kerinci. The north and center itself is dominated by hills.

Climate and Hydrological

  South Solok generally tropical climate with temperatures varying between 20°C to 33°C. Rainfall is quite high, namely 1,600 to 4,000 mm/year with humidity around 80%. Throughout the year there are two seasons, the rainy season which usually occurs during the period from January to May and September to December, and the dry season during the period from June to August.
